In Paris, the search for a midfielder is on… and it may have already borne fruit. Even better: PSG’s management may have come across a profile that strikingly resembles Joao Neves, one of the most notable transfers of recent times.
Arriving in the summer of 2024 from Benfica Lisbon, Joao Neves quickly established himself as a key player in the Parisian midfield. Alongside Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz, the Portuguese international formed a trio that was both technical and intelligent, transforming the team’s balance. A masterstroke that PSG would like to replicate.
According to Bild, the capital club has already identified its next target. His name: Johan Manzambi.
At just 20 years old, the Swiss international is one of the standout revelations of the Bundesliga with Freiburg. Tireless, technically sound, and decisive in key areas, his profile ticks all the boxes… and particularly appeals to Luis Enrique.
Future midfield boss at PSG?
The numbers speak for him: 19 matches in all competitions, all started, with 4 goals and 4 assists. An impressive consistency for such a young player, already touted in Germany as a future midfield leader.
Under contract until 2030, the native of Geneva will not be sold cheaply. Freiburg even hopes to break its sales record, currently set at 25 million euros. An amount that does not seem to scare PSG, ready to invest heavily to secure the future.
After Joao Neves, does Paris already have its next gem? The saga is just beginning.
