PSG, Morocco. Hakimi, Return Date Set!

It’s not happening just yet. Rested during the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations against the Comoros (2–0), Achraf Hakimi is still carefully managing his comeback after the serious left ankle sprain he suffered in early November. The Morocco captain is gradually building momentum, but without rushing the process.

Achraf Hakimi is not ready yet. Absent from the pitch, the Paris Saint-Germain right-back remains highly involved within the squad. His leadership and presence in the dressing room are widely praised, especially by his teammates, who are fully aware of how crucial his return will be for the rest of the tournament.

A captain whose influence is already being felt

Nayef Aguerd did not hide his admiration in the mixed zone. The central defender sounded reassuring about Hakimi’s physical condition, highlighting his key role within the national team and the influence he exerts even when not playing. “First of all, we’re very proud of him. He’s a friend, I’m very close to him. It’s unfortunate he had this injury, but I’m not worried—he came back at the right time. He adds his leadership in the dressing room. The day he’s ready, he’ll give us an extra boost. He’s our captain and we’re very happy for him,” insisted the Olympique de Marseille defender.

According to the latest indications, Achraf Hakimi’s return to action is expected on Friday against Mali. A major reinforcement for Morocco, who hope to grow stronger as the AFCON progresses with their captain finally back at full strength.

PSG, meanwhile, will be watching this comeback closely. A member of the Paris club’s staff is currently in Morocco to monitor the impressive recovery of the Moroccan defender.
