No more veterans at Paris Saint-Germain. That’s the clear message from president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who lifted the lid on the club’s transfer strategy in an interview with Al-Kass Sports.
The formula? Young, dynamic, high-potential players only. According to Al-Khelaïfi, coach Luis Enrique has made it non-negotiable: “Buying a 28-year-old? Impossible. It’s forbidden. He doesn’t want it,” the president confirmed.
Enrique’s Golden Rule: 27 and Under
The most recent PSG signings confirm it — 21, 22, 23-year-old profiles dominate. It’s all about intensity, hunger, and energy. “He likes players who are 21–22 years old. Look at our last signings. The oldest was 23 or 24,” said Al-Khelaïfi.
This youth-focused approach has already paid off. After years of criticism for big-name flops and aging stars, PSG is now building around a clear, structured vision — and winning.
Campos Suggests, Enrique Approves
The process is collaborative: Luis Campos proposes, Luis Enrique validates, then the board makes the final call. “Everyone has a role. Enrique must be convinced that the player fits his system,” Al-Khelaïfi added.
