It was an emotional evening for PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in New York, during the Club World Cup semifinal between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid (4-0). From political diplomacy to heartfelt gestures, Al-Khelaïfi made headlines far beyond the pitch.

En résumé
A gesture that melted heartsSurprise encounter in the streets of New York

In the VIP box, Al-Khelaïfi shared a symbolic handshake with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez — despite past tensions over the failed Super League project. Between them sat FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Despite the stadium’s air conditioning, the heat was suffocating: 35°C felt temperature and 60% humidity. PSG, unfazed, dismantled Madrid on the field.

But it was a moment after the final whistle that truly stole the show.

A gesture that melted hearts

As Al-Khelaïfi exited the stands, he spotted a young boy in tears with a broken arm. Without hesitation, the PSG president called for ice, stayed with the child until his father arrived, and brought him into the VIP area for medical care.

He then gifted the boy a PSG pin — and invited him, his friend, and both their fathers to attend the final against Chelsea. Social media quickly lit up with praise for the president’s compassion.

Surprise encounter in the streets of New York

Earlier that day, another fan encounter went viral. Outside the PSG official store in Manhattan, Al-Khelaïfi ran into supporters. One fan shared on TikTok (@ismamrh): “We had just left the Best Buy next door. We saw a crowd and realized it was Nasser! He greeted us, took photos, then asked if we had tickets. I said no, and he just called his assistant and said: ‘Don’t worry, it’s sorted.’”

From VIP boxes to city streets, Al-Khelaïfi left his mark on New York — not just as a club president, but as a human being. His generosity, humility, and love for the game made him the true star of the night… beyond the 4-0 scoreline.
