PSG has won another round against Kylian Mbappé on the legal battlefield. On December 9, the Paris Court of Appeal dismissed the former Paris player’s appeal, in which he challenged the lifting of precautionary seizures carried out on the club’s bank accounts.
Kylian Mbappé will now have to repay PSG. For the record, Mbappé had claimed 55 million euros from PSG and had this amount seized in the spring. That decision was overturned as early as May by the courts, despite the player’s appeal. The Court of Appeal has now confirmed that reversal.
PSG Secures a Clear Legal Victory
The direct consequence is clear: not only do the seizures remain lifted, but Mbappé has also been ordered to pay legal costs and to give 3,000 euros to PSG for abuse of procedure. A negligible sum for Mbappé, but a decisive win for the Parisian club.
On PSG’s side, satisfaction is evident. The club believes that the courts have once again confirmed the lack of legal basis in the actions taken by their former player. The case is not entirely closed, however: both parties will meet again on December 16 before the labor court. But on this specific episode, the advantage is clearly PSG’s.
