Tottenham ultimately fell to PSG in the UEFA Super Cup after a dramatic comeback from the Parisians (2-2, 4-3 pens).
The French champions pulled off their remontada, but the Spurs delivered a display full of resilience and heart, holding their own for long spells against a side fresh off their Champions League triumph and widely tipped as favorites.
Thomas Frank chose to take the defeat with humor and optimism: “I’m very proud of the players, the club, the supporters… We played against the best team in the world right now. When you draw 2-2 with PSG, you’ve already ticked something positive. We lost on penalties, so we need to work on that (laughs). If you watch our game, I can only say ‘wow,’ what a match we played, what a great performance.”
His words reflect the pride of a determined group, convinced they have laid solid foundations for the rest of the season despite the disappointment of the result.
