Erling Haaland didn’t hold back. As Manchester City’s underwhelming season draws to a close—with even Champions League qualification now uncertain—the Norwegian striker has stepped up to take responsibility.
Speaking to the BBC, Haaland admitted: “We can make excuses—injuries, poor form—but the truth is, we just weren’t good enough. Myself included. I didn’t do enough to help the team.”
Despite scoring 21 goals in the Premier League, Haaland labeled the campaign as “catastrophic” by City’s elite standards.
A Summer Rebuild Incoming
With the squad seemingly at the end of a cycle, major changes are looming. Both Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva are expected to leave, and reinforcements are planned across the pitch.
Big summer ahead at the Etihad—starting with self-reflection.
