In New York, Neymar tried stealth mode. Strolling through Times Square after the end of the Brazilian championship, the Santos star disguised himself as a perfect anonymous passerby: a lilac balaclava over his head and a huge pink-and-white Louis Vuitton puffer jacket on his back.
Discretion level… Neymar. Much like Kylian Mbappé or Kanye West before him, the Brazilian headed to Times Square in complete secrecy. To avoid being swarmed by fans, he wore a full-face balaclava—slightly spooky, worthy of Halloween.
A brief taste of anonymity
And it almost worked. “No one recognized you… what does it feel like to be a normal guy?” one of his friends teased him. The footballer replied with a laugh: “I don’t think I look very normal.”
Until the moment he took off the balaclava for a coffee: immediate rush, selfies galore, infiltration mission over. Masked or not, Neymar remains Neymar.
Neymar is set to undergo meniscus surgery this week, an operation scheduled ahead of his contract extension with Santos. Expected to be sidelined for about a month, the Brazilian is targeting a swift return with the 2026 World Cup firmly in his sights.
When everyday life isn’t so simple, Neymar adapts 😷
