FC Barcelona: Return to Camp Nou postponed… and the wait drags on.
Originally scheduled for August 10 during the Joan Gamper Trophy, Barça’s long-awaited return to the Camp Nou has been pushed back once again. Renovation work at the iconic stadium hasn’t progressed enough, forcing the club to change its plans.
As a result, the friendly match against Italian side Como has been moved to the Estadi Johan Cruyff — a far more modest venue located within La Masia, with just 6,000 seats. The city of Barcelona denied the club an operational license due to compliance issues.
It’s a frustrating setback for fans eager to see the Blaugrana back in their renovated home. Still, the club hopes to kick off their La Liga season inside the new-look Camp Nou.
