José Mourinho is dreaming of a return to Portugal — but only under the right conditions. If he comes back, it won’t be to wind down his career, but to stay at the top.

Since leaving FC Porto in 2004, Mourinho hasn’t coached in his homeland. Now at the helm of Fenerbahçe, the 61-year-old Portuguese manager told Sport TV that the idea of returning home is very much alive.

“I will definitely return to Portugal. It hasn’t happened yet, but it will. Not because I’m nearing the end of my career — on the contrary, because I’m far from it. I want to come back at my peak, with strength and clarity,” he said.
