Jamal Musiala has undergone successful surgery after fracturing his fibula during Bayern Munich’s 2–0 loss to PSG in the Club World Cup quarter-final.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder returned to Germany immediately after the match and was operated on shortly after, the club confirmed.
Musiala will begin his rehabilitation on Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined for several months. According to Bayern’s statement, he won’t return to action before November.
A major blow for both club and country, as the German international had scored 21 goals in 43 appearances this season.
