Paris Saint-Germain will return to the Champions League final on May 30 in Budapest. After a spectacular 5-4 win in the first leg, the Parisian club sealed qualification with a solid 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening.
The result sparked huge emotion in the PSG camp, mixing pride, relief and caution after another demanding European night.
PSG Shows Pride and Resilience
Désiré Doué savored the qualification while urging restraint ahead of the final against Arsenal. “It was an exceptional match, another magical night here in Munich. We played against a very great team,” the young forward told Canal+.
Willian Pacho, named UEFA’s man of the match, praised the collective spirit: “We suffered but we fought, that’s what defines us.” João Neves also highlighted PSG’s maturity, saying the team knows how to suffer and is ready for what comes next.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia described Bayern as one of the best teams in the world and called it the hardest match of the season. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, visibly emotional, summed up PSG’s current identity with a powerful line: “The star is the team.”
