The tension surrounding Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid has reached an unbelievable level. Despite an impressive statistical season with 41 goals in 41 matches, the French striker is now facing a genuine wave of backlash from supporters.
Things continue to worsen for Kylian Mbappé. The player’s entourage denied several fake news stories circulating this week, but Real Madrid fans remain furious. An online petition called “MbappeOut,” launched on Monday, May 5, quickly exploded across social media and has now surpassed 12 million signatures. The massive figure highlights the growing anger among part of the Real Madrid fanbase.
Mbappé at the center of a major controversy in Madrid
Initially, the creators of the petition hoped to collect 50,000 signatures, but that target was smashed within just a few hours. The message directed at Madrid supporters was crystal clear: “If you believe change is necessary, sign this petition to defend the future of the club.”
This huge wave of criticism comes as Mbappé is going through a difficult period in Spain. Sidelined with a knee injury, the former PSG player has been criticized for his attitude and commitment, while reports of internal tensions inside the Madrid dressing room continue to surface. His relationship with some key players, especially Jude Bellingham, regularly fuels debate in the Spanish media.

On the sporting side, the situation is not helping either. Real Madrid appears headed for a trophyless season after eliminations from both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, while FC Barcelona is closing in on the La Liga title. As a result, despite his goals, Mbappé now finds himself at the center of a huge media and fan storm in Madrid.
