Asked in a press conference about the blockbuster clash between PSG and Bayern Munich, Antoine Kombouaré first delivered his trademark blunt response. But behind a deliberately sharp reaction, the Paris FC manager ultimately acknowledged the exceptional scale of this European showdown.

Kombouaré was the first PSG coach of the QSI era. It didn’t last long, but since then he has managed several clubs. Now in charge of Paris FC, he leads the capital’s rival side and took the opportunity to remind everyone that his priority is keeping Paris FC afloat.

True to character, his remarks showed a man more focused on his own challenges than on Parisian headlines. Yet once that message was clear, Kombouaré did not shy away from praising the quality of the spectacle.

“It’s fabulous because I watched an incredible match. PSG scoring five goals against Bayern this year is no small feat. Then they were put under pressure, conceding four, which is normal. There are world-class players on both sides. It’s clearly one of the biggest European matches, a true Champions League classic.”
