The draw held in Brussels places France in Group A1 alongside Italy, Belgium, and Turkey. It is a dense group filled with history and rivalries. However, France avoids England and Spain, who end up in another highly competitive group.
A high-intensity group with historic rivalries
The matchups promise to be fierce: a classic showdown against Italy, a recent favorable run against Belgium, and tense reunions with Turkey, whom France has not beaten in an official match for a long time. It will be a true test for the future head coach.
The format is also changing: the six group matches will be concentrated into two international windows between late September and mid-November 2026. The quarterfinals will take place in March 2027, followed by the Final Four in June.
