France national team coach Didier Deschamps officially unveiled his 26-man squad this Thursday for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The announcement included several major decisions, most notably the absence of Eduardo Camavinga from midfield.
In goal, Robin Risser earns his first call-up for a major international tournament and joins Mike Maignan and Brice Samba in the goalkeeper group. In defense, Deschamps decided to strengthen the back line with nine defenders, including Maxence Lacroix, rewarded for his excellent season.
