The atmosphere is becoming completely toxic in Madrid. After being whistled by the Bernabeu crowd, Kylian Mbappé is now involved in a major public clash with his coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
The situation reportedly exploded in front of the media after the French star made shocking comments following the match. Mbappé revealed: “Arbeloa told me tonight that I was the fourth striker in the squad behind Vini, Gonzalo and Mastantuono. I have to work to become better than them if I want more playing time.”

The statement immediately sparked huge controversy in Spain, especially after Arbeloa responded coldly during his own press conference. “I never said that to Mbappé. He probably misunderstood,” the Madrid coach said before adding: “I am the manager, and I decide who plays and who does not play.”
But the line causing the biggest reaction in Spain came moments later when Arbeloa declared: “A player who was not even on the bench four days ago should not have started today.” In other words, the coach clearly suggested that Mbappé was never supposed to be in the starting lineup, confirming the growing tensions surrounding the French superstar.

Mbappé later dismissed the supposed criticism coming from some teammates. “I prefer speaking here openly. Many others don’t do it, and I have to read the press to know what they think,” he explained before defending his controversial trip to Italy. “People don’t know the real context behind why I went there. It just helps sell newspapers. The only thing that matters to me is winning titles.”
