Sidney Govou revealed that he narrowly escaped a dramatic situation after a patellar tendon operation. The former French international explains that a doctor even advised him to consider amputation, as the situation seemed critical.

According to his statements reported by Le Parisien, it was an infection contracted in the hospital that nearly cost him part of his left leg. Govou recounts that after his operation, a staphylococcus infection developed, causing extreme pain and a rapid deterioration of his condition.
