Lionel Messi can forget about it: Pep Guardiola will not be joining Inter Miami or Major League Soccer, just days after leaving Manchester City.

Guardiola is not expected to reunite with Messi anytime soon. Following his departure from Manchester City, the Spanish manager was reportedly targeted by Inter Miami as a potential replacement for Javier Mascherano, according to the Daily Mirror.

Guardiola Chooses a Break

David Beckham, co-owner of the Florida-based franchise, is said to dream of bringing Guardiola and Messi back together, reviving a partnership that helped shape the history of Barcelona. Such an appointment would also provide a massive boost to the profile of MLS.
