Kombouaré New Coach, Paris FC Moves Away from Ligue 2 Relegation Zone

For his debut on the bench, Antoine Kombouaré revived Paris FC with a crucial 1-0 win over OGC Nice. The losing streak is over, the doubts have faded: now it’s time to fight back. Kombouaré arrived, and PFC won. Simple. Efficient. The hero? Marshall Munetsi. Two goals in two matches, clinical and decisive. A signing who understands survival.

At the back, they suffered. Up front, they battled. Pure Kombouaré style. After the traumatic 5-0 defeat against Lens, the Kanak tightened the screws, sidelined key players, and sent a clear message: those who want to stay up must fight. The others can watch.

A Fighting Spirit to Secure Survival

The result: an eight-point cushion over the relegation play-off spot. Paris FC can breathe again. More importantly, they have found their leader. Survival will not be champagne football. It will be a battle. And in that department, Kombouaré knows exactly what he’s doing. The rescue mission has officially begun.

“I felt a great deal of satisfaction. The victory is beautiful because it was built through suffering and pain,” Kombouaré said at the post-match press conference. “This was the match of rehabilitation, the match of redemption, the match of revolt, because the squad was traumatized and weakened by the 5-0 defeat against Lens.” He added: “We must show the same behavior and the same attitude. If you are not capable of holding on and fighting, you have no hope of getting anything. You have to be ready.”

Antoine Kombouaré also justified the exclusion of four players, including the Lopez brothers. “From what I saw and what I asked for, some players are capable of doing better. I told Maxime, Timothée, and Willem to keep working, not to give up, and they will get their chance at the right moment.”
