The future professional Ligue 3 could soon carry the Betclic name. According to L’Équipe, the sports betting operator is in discussions to become the title sponsor of the new competition, which is set to launch in the coming months.
Ligue 3 is on its way, but no agreement has been finalized yet. Betclic has confirmed that “no agreement has been reached to date,” while the French Football Federation (FFF) insists that negotiations are still ongoing.
Betclic and FFF Continue Naming Rights Discussions
Betclic explained that, as part of its trusted relationship with the FFF, it regularly discusses a wide range of topics related to the development of French football. However, the company reiterated that no naming rights deal for Ligue 3 has been signed so far. The FFF also stated that negotiations remain open and that no option is currently being favored.
The project is therefore still under discussion, with a potential agreement expected in the coming weeks if talks are successful. The new professional Ligue 3 was officially announced by the FFF on May 12 and will feature 18 clubs. The season is scheduled to begin on August 7, with every match broadcast live on Ligue 1+.
