Despite the official denial from LOSC, Bruno Genesio’s situation has not changed. After the heavy defeat against Strasbourg (1–4) this Sunday in Ligue 1, the fifth in a row across all competitions in 2026, the Lille coach remains firmly in place.
In the mixed zone, president Olivier Létang sought to put out any controversy. Aware of a difficult start to the year, he reaffirmed his confidence in the entire squad, the staff, and his coach, calling for unity to get out of this negative spiral.
Létang Reaffirms His Support
“The start of 2026 has been very difficult in terms of results. I have great confidence in the whole squad, the staff, and Bruno; we have to hang in there and rediscover our values and strengths. In this kind of vicious circle, we must stay the course and remain united. I have great confidence and a lot of strength. A departure for Genesio? It’s not even a debate. He’s doing a remarkable job, our relationship is very good—total trust,” said the club president.
Bruno Genesio had also denied any resignation. “I’m going to be clear: after the match in Vigo, we had a discussion with the management. Not for me to submit my resignation as I’ve heard. I haven’t read anything like that, so I’m less affected by it, but that’s what was reported to me,” the coach explained.
