Manchester City are prepared to break the bank to sign Elliot Anderson. Determined to strengthen their midfield, the Citizens have submitted a huge new offer to Nottingham Forest after seeing their first bid rejected.
Nottingham Forest are still holding firm, but for how much longer? Anderson has been identified as Manchester City’s next marquee signing, and the club appears willing to do everything possible to secure his arrival.
Record-Breaking Transfer Pursuit
According to The Athletic, City have offered €123 million, with an additional €17 million in potential bonuses. The total package could reach €140 million, yet it has still failed to convince Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League club remains uncompromising and is reportedly demanding even more. Forest’s executives are hoping to surpass the British transfer record set by Alexander Isak’s €145 million move to Liverpool last summer.
At just 22 years old, Elliot Anderson has become one of the most sought-after players in England. An undisputed starter for Nottingham Forest, he featured in all 38 Premier League matches this season, contributing four goals and four assists.
His performances earned him a place in the England squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup and caught the full attention of Manchester City, who view him as the ideal long-term successor to Bernardo Silva. The only question now is how far City are willing to go, as this deal could become one of the most expensive transfers in football history.
