A cold blow has hit the Paul Pogba case in Monaco. Already slowed by a calf injury since December, the 32-year-old midfielder has now been left out of the club’s Champions League squad list. It is a worrying signal about the remainder of his season.
Monaco is preparing to move on from Paul Pogba. AS Monaco will not include him in the list submitted to UEFA for the upcoming phase of the Champions League, according to L’Équipe and RMC. Still physically sidelined, the 2018 World Cup winner is paying the price for his prolonged unavailability. Since his arrival, he has played only 30 minutes in a Monaco shirt.
Uncertain future after long injury layoff
The club has also removed Mohammed Salisu and Takumi Minamino, both victims of cruciate ligament ruptures and ruled out until the end of the season. Winter signings Wout Faes and Simon Adingra take their places in the European squad.
Will Pogba play again for Monaco? Internally, the message remains very cautious. General director Thiago Scuro admits there is no clear timeline for Pogba’s return: the medical staff is still looking for solutions, and the priority is simply a gradual return to the pitch, with no guarantees on timing.
