Paul Pogba, expected for a possible return this weekend against Paris FC, will have to wait a bit longer. The 32-year-old midfielder injured his ankle on Thursday during training, delaying his comeback with AS Monaco.
Paul Pogba’s return after two years… but not yet. We will have to wait longer. Sébastien Pocognoli provided an update on his player: “He has a grade 2 sprain. That’s all I can say for now. There will be another examination next week. It’s a moderate sprain. I can’t provide the medical terms.”
From a few days… to a few weeks
As for the duration of his unavailability, the coach remains cautious: “The unavailability can vary from a few days to one or two weeks. This will be confirmed next week.”
Another setback for Pogba, who has yet to return to competitive play. He was suspended for doping while with Juventus and has not played in an official competition since September 2023. Is Monaco’s gamble turning into a fiasco? Answers will come in a few days.
