Olympique de Marseille can breathe a sigh of relief. The DNCG has not imposed a transfer ban on the Marseille club, but it has still decided to regulate its wage bill for the 2026-2027 season. This measure will force the club’s directors to remain particularly vigilant financially.
OM will be able to sign players. But under supervision. In its statement, the Ligue de Football Professionnel specifies that this decision to regulate the wage bill comes “following the change of control of the club.” OM will therefore have to respect a strict budgetary framework during the summer transfer window and in the management of its squad.
Marseille’s Transfer Window Under Close Watch
This decision does not block Marseille’s ambitions, but it does limit their room for maneuver. Every new signing will have to be carefully controlled financially in order to meet the DNCG’s requirements. Olympique Lyonnais is also affected by wage bill supervision, while AS Monaco received a similar decision a few days earlier.
After this conditional green light, the Marseille directors can now focus on their next priority files, starting with the appointment of the future coach and the continuation of the summer transfer window, which promises to be particularly lively on the Canebière.
