Paris Saint-Germain has delivered disappointing news for its most athletic supporters. The club has officially canceled the 2026 edition of We Run Paris, the running event that was expected to bring together more than 12,000 participants in the streets of the French capital this weekend.
The event was scheduled to take place over two days, with a race for children on Saturday, June 27, followed by the traditional 10-kilometer race for adults on Sunday, June 28. After the success of last year’s edition, PSG had hoped to once again attract thousands of running enthusiasts.
Extreme Heat Forces PSG to Cancel We Run Paris
In an official statement, the club explained that the decision was driven by exceptional weather conditions. “Due to the unprecedented heatwave currently affecting Paris and a large part of mainland France, Paris Saint-Germain deeply regrets announcing the cancellation of all We Run Paris 2026 races scheduled for Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28,” the club said.
The cancellation is a major disappointment for the thousands of registered runners, but the safety of participants was considered the top priority. Although temperatures are expected to ease in the coming days, weather conditions remain too uncertain to safely hold the event.
