Antoine Kombouaré’s future at Paris FC is looking increasingly uncertain. Although a contract extension appeared to be on track after the club secured survival and an impressive 11th-place finish in Ligue 1, negotiations have reportedly reached a deadlock.
In a major twist, Kombouaré now seems destined for the exit. The veteran coach, often regarded as French football’s ultimate firefighter, is no longer expected to remain at Paris FC after talks between both parties failed to produce an agreement.
Contract Talks Reach Breaking Point
According to Le Parisien, the 62-year-old manager is demanding stronger guarantees regarding the club’s sporting project, a contract extension until 2028, and an improved salary package. Those requests have reportedly failed to convince the Paris FC hierarchy.
As a result, the club has already started searching for a replacement. Liam Rosenior is said to be the leading candidate, while Habib Beye and Walid Regragui have also been linked with the position. Unless there is a dramatic last-minute breakthrough, Kombouaré is expected to leave before the squad returns for preseason training on July 1.
