Luis Enrique came very close to leaving PSG in 2024. The information was confirmed by Paris sporting advisor Luis Campos in an interview with Marca.

The former Spain national team coach had issued a clear ultimatum. He demanded a significant increase in intensity and professionalism during training, otherwise he was ready to leave. “At the end of his first season, he told me: ‘Luis, either we raise the level of training every day, with players giving 100%, or I’m leaving,’” explains Campos.

Since then, this rigor has become a central criterion in recruitment. “When we talk to a player, I immediately tell him that if he doesn’t train every day at the highest level, he won’t play. It’s as simple as that,” concludes the Portuguese executive.
