On the eve of the UEFA Champions League second-leg playoff against AS Monaco, the Paris Saint-Germain full-back is directly threatened with suspension.
Nuno Mendes is walking a tightrope. Already booked before the two-legged clash, another yellow card on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes would rule him out of the next European fixture if PSG qualify.
Suspension Risk Ahead of Crucial Champions League Clash
The risk is enormous. Mendes has become a cornerstone of Paris’ balance, just as valuable defensively as he is in forward surges. Losing him for the next round would be a significant setback.
And there’s more to consider: disciplinary counts will only be reset after the second leg of the quarter-finals. Until then, there is absolutely no room for error.
