Is Paris Saint-Germain searching for a new penalty taker? The question is being seriously discussed internally. Far too inconsistent in what is often a decisive exercise, Paris have converted only 5 of their 9 attempts this season.

The latest warning came with Vitinha’s miss in the first leg of the Champions League playoff against AS Monaco (3-2 win). A costly failure that has reignited debate over the penalty-taking hierarchy. According to Le Parisien, Luis Enrique is considering reshuffling the order.

Désiré Doué’s name is gaining momentum. Technically gifted and effective in penalty shootouts, the young attacker could represent a credible alternative. The same applies to Achraf Hakimi. Used to high-stakes encounters and known for his composure, the Moroccan full-back ticks many boxes for the role. Nuno Mendes and Gonçalo Ramos are also waiting in the wings.

With knockout matches looming, PSG know that a single penalty can define an entire season. The only question now is who will be entrusted with that burning responsibility.
