PSG: The Dembélé Controversy, Doué Sets the Record Straight

Ousmane Dembélé’s statement a few days ago is still causing a stir. Speaking to the media, Désiré Doué chose to ease tensions, explaining that he did not feel targeted by the remarks made by the Parisian senior player.

After the defeat against Rennes, Dembélé had banged his fist on the table. “I think we need to show more desire, and above all play for Paris Saint-Germain if we want to win matches. Because if we play individually on the pitch, it won’t work, and we won’t win the titles we’re aiming for.”

This Tuesday, ahead of the second-leg playoff against Monaco, Désiré Doué was asked about the issue again. For him, it is already old news. “Leaders have the right to speak up and must do so at certain moments. It’s normal to feel frustration after a defeat. Among ourselves, we speak very clearly, and we’re happy to move forward together.”

He then made his position clear: “I did not feel targeted. There is no real Désiré or fake Désiré. I always try to give my best and help the team,” the Paris player assured during the press conference.
