Just a week before their European Super Cup clash with Tottenham, alarm bells are ringing in Paris.
Former PSG fitness coach Alexandre Marles has sounded the warning in L’Équipe: “They won’t be ready. Expecting this team to be match-fit next week against Tottenham, or even Nantes, makes no sense.”
Exhausted After a Historic Season
After a record-breaking campaign — 65 matches across all competitions and a historic quadruple (Ligue 1, domestic cups, Champions League, and Super Cup) — the PSG squad has barely had time to breathe. With just three weeks off and a rushed pre-season, fatigue is real.
Burnout Incoming?
Even with a deep squad and Luis Enrique’s masterful rotation system, the risk is high. Sports psychologist Cédric Quignon-Fleuret warns: “No one is immune to burnout.”
Facing a well-rested Spurs side, PSG will have to dig deep mentally. But with the season starting so early, the real battle may be keeping minds and bodies fresh — and that could be Enrique’s biggest challenge yet.
