Real Madrid are not only making headlines with major signings in this transfer window. Los Blancos are also pulling off a huge financial move through sales, bringing in nearly €110 million thanks to players who were not even part of the first-team plans.
Real Madrid’s summer market is proving especially profitable. While the Madrid club has already made big moves in terms of arrivals, it has also activated another machine: smart sales. According to A Bola, Real have already earned around €108 million through departures or clauses involving players who were barely used, or not involved at all, with the first team in 2025-2026.
Real Madrid Cash In on Forgotten Players
The biggest sale concerns Nico Paz. The Real Madrid academy product joined Como for €60 million, a major operation for Los Blancos. It is the second-largest sale of a player developed in the Madrid academy, behind Álvaro Morata’s move to Chelsea. Real also made sure to retain control over the player’s future, with a buy-back option set at €80 million.
Another very lucrative case is Víctor Muñoz. After a successful season at Osasuna, the winger was signed by Liverpool, who activated his €40 million release clause. Of that amount, €20 million went directly to Real Madrid. The Spanish club also benefited from other secondary but highly profitable deals. Mario Gila’s move from Lazio to AC Milan earned Los Blancos €15 million. The same amount came from Álvaro Rodríguez’s move to Bournemouth, while Mario Martín’s sale to Getafe added another €3.5 million.
And the total could still rise. Sergio Arribas, who has impressed with Almeria and is notably being followed by Liverpool, could leave the Andalusian club for around €25 million. That deal would allow Real Madrid to collect nearly €12.5 million more. In short, Real Madrid are financing part of their major transfer window with players who were no longer central to the project. A ruthless strategy: selling forgotten assets for big money, sometimes keeping buy-back options, and immediately reinvesting in a squad built to return to the top.
