It’s the end of an era at the Santiago Bernabéu. Lucas Vázquez has officially announced his departure from Real Madrid after 11 seasons with the first team.
The club confirmed a farewell ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 1 p.m. at Valdebebas, with president Florentino Pérez in attendance.
The 34-year-old full-back, a loyal servant of the club, leaves behind an impressive legacy: 402 appearances, 38 goals, and no fewer than five Champions League titles (2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2024).
“Madrid became my home”
In a heartfelt message to Madridistas, Vázquez wrote: “Madrid became my home. Together, we celebrated 23 titles and created unforgettable memories. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.”
His next destination? All signs point toward the Gulf region or Turkey, where Fenerbahçe are reportedly pushing to secure his signature.
