It sounds unbelievable, yet it’s true: Ruben Amorim and Diogo Dalot reportedly share a common ancestor, a French circus artist from the 19th century. An unexpected and fascinating family connection revealed by the genealogy site Geneall.
According to Geneall, Ruben Amorim, one of Portugal’s most highly regarded coaches, and Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot are both great-great-grandsons of Carlos Dallot, a French circus performer who travelled across Europe before settling permanently in Braga.
Coincidentally, Braga is also the hometown of both Amorim and Dalot, linking two major figures of modern Portuguese football through an astonishing family lineage.
