PSG: The Bayern joke about Hakimi that did NOT go down well

A nightmare evening for PSG. Beaten 1–2 by Bayern Munich, the Parisian club not only lost the match but also saw Dembélé and then Hakimi forced off injured. Luis Diaz’s horrific tackle on the Moroccan full-back continues to spark reactions, even within the Bayern camp.

Already weakened by multiple injuries in recent weeks, PSG suffered two more major blows. Ousmane Dembélé limped off after just 25 minutes with a calf issue, and minutes later, Achraf Hakimi was taken out by a brutal challenge from Luis Diaz right before halftime.

The first medical reports suggest the Moroccan could be sidelined for three to five weeks, a significant setback for Luis Enrique, who is running out of options.

“We thanked Diaz (laughs)”

But what truly angered Paris fans came after the match. In the mixed zone, Bayern defender Josip Stanisic was asked about Diaz’s tackle. While admitting his teammate “needs to be smarter,” he followed up with a joke that shocked many: “Did he apologise to the team? No, he didn’t. We thanked him (laughs). I’m joking! He was happy. So were we.” An attempt at humour that is unlikely to be appreciated in Paris as Hakimi faces weeks on the sidelines.

With tensions already high, this ill-timed joke only adds fuel to the frustration, while PSG now await final medical tests to determine the extent of Hakimi’s injury.
