In an interview with Metz-based streamer Flodas, former FC Metz goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja delivered a highly critical account of Kylian Mbappé. The French star finds himself under scrutiny once again, as a former opponent openly questions his behavior on the pitch.
According to Oukidja, Mbappé can appear respectful when his team is comfortably ahead, even apologizing after certain physical challenges. However, the goalkeeper claims the striker’s attitude shifts when he struggles or when his team is trailing, alleging insults and inappropriate remarks during matches.
Alleged On-Field Behavior and Heated Exchanges
“If we’re losing 1, 2 or 3-0, he’ll help you up saying ‘excuse me, sorry.’ But as soon as he feels slightly provoked, if he’s not having a good game or if PSG is losing, he starts insulting mothers, insulting you, telling you to go f*** yourself,” Oukidja revealed.
The former goalkeeper also recalled a match at Saint-Symphorien in September 2021 against Paris Saint-Germain. After the ball had been deliberately put out of play for an injured player, Mbappé allegedly attempted to chip him when play resumed. Oukidja described tense exchanges and further insults, particularly after Achraf Hakimi’s winning goal, claiming the forward came directly to provoke him.
“I told him, ‘Are you crazy, what are you doing?’ He replied, ‘You shut up, small-time player.’ I thought to myself, ‘Calm down or you’ll spear him, get a red card, and everyone will turn on you.’ So I said nothing. Bronn and he were trading insults. I thought, ‘So this is top-level football.’” A raw account that reignites debate over tension and pressure in elite football.
