Gathered this Thursday by president Thierry Gomez, employees of Le Mans FC received major news: the Ligue 2 club is about to undergo a strategic turning point.
Le Mans FC is entering a new era with a significant capital shift. Just over six months after the arrival of the Brazilian fund Outfield, it is now set to become the majority shareholder. Thierry Gomez will retain his shares and remain in charge of the club.
Major Investments and Ambitious Development Plans for Le Mans FC
At the same time, the new investors are aiming high. Their objective is to buy back the Pincenardière training center from the city, carry out extensive modernization work, and relaunch the youth academy as early as next season. On X, the current 5th-placed team in Ligue 2 officially confirmed its growing ambitions, with one name already making headlines: Thibaut Courtois.
Developed in close collaboration with the DTN and the DNCG over the past several months, the project involves several million euros in investments. Following the notable arrivals of personalities such as Novak Djokovic, Felipe Massa, and Kevin Magnussen last summer, Le Mans FC is now preparing to welcome another major investor: Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (33), through his company NxtPlay.
Currently battling for promotion to Ligue 1 behind Red Star (4th) and AS Saint-Étienne (3rd), the Le Mans club is thinking big—very big. Now, all that remains is a return to the top flight.
