Thrashed by Atletico Madrid (2-5) on Tuesday in the Champions League, Tottenham are going through a dark period and appear completely lost. After this latest setback, Spurs manager Igor Tudor chose to apologize to the club’s supporters.
Igor Tudor did not expect things to be this complicated. Arriving at Tottenham midway through the season, the former Marseille coach has struggled to turn things around. The club is heading straight toward relegation, and their Champions League campaign is not going any better.
Tudor Admits the Situation Is Extremely Difficult to Explain
“We apologize to the fans. It’s a difficult period. Everything seems to be going wrong. The smallest mistake is punished immediately. Everything is unbelievable. Even that action at the end, with the collision between two players… It felt like everything was against us. It’s extremely difficult to explain. In 15 years of coaching, I have never seen a situation like this,” the Croatian coach told TNT Sports.
Before facing Atletico again next Wednesday, Tottenham will travel to Liverpool on Sunday for a crucial Premier League match in the battle to avoid relegation.
