The venue for the Coupe de France final has still not been officially confirmed. While Lens, Toulouse, Strasbourg and Nice can still dream of lifting the trophy, the French Football Federation (FFF) must decide where the decisive match will take place.
According to L’Équipe, the FFF now intends to move the final forward to May 22. The elimination of Olympique Lyonnais has simplified the situation, as the Lyon club could have been involved in the Europa League final on May 20, which would have complicated the organization.
The Stade de France remains the priority option
The priority remains the Stade de France. By scheduling the match on May 22, the game would not be disrupted by the Grand Paris construction works planned for the following day, which will lead to the closure of several public transport lines around Saint-Denis.
If this option ultimately cannot be confirmed, the final could instead be played at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon. The FFF is expected to make its final decision later this week.
