UEFA Shows No Mercy to PSG Despite a Record-Breaking Season

Despite an absolutely historic 2025 season, Paris Saint-Germain remains stuck outside the UEFA top five. A real slap in the face for the European champions, who swept everything in their path. Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup… Paris dominated the continent, yet without the recognition that should come with it.

The reason? A ruthless calculation system. The UEFA ranking does not reward an exceptional single season, but rather a five-year cycle. And in this cold equation, PSG is still paying for past European disappointments: early eliminations, aborted campaigns, and failed nights on the big stage. As a result, with 109.50 points, the Parisian club sits only sixth, behind Real Madrid (131.50), Bayern Munich (124.25), Inter, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

A system that punishes season excellence

The most frustrating part remains the ranking for the 2024–2025 season alone. Despite an unprecedented European treble, Paris is only fourth with 33.50 points, behind Inter (40.25), Barcelona (36.25), and Arsenal (36). A total paradox for a club that completely dominated Europe on the pitch.

Officially, UEFA is simply applying its regulations. Unofficially, many see it as a blatant injustice. How can the European champion remain so far down the rankings? How can a perfect season fail to overturn an established hierarchy? The answer is cold, mathematical… and cruel. But one thing is certain: if PSG keeps up this momentum, the rankings will eventually give way. And this time, no one will be able to ignore it.
