Galatasaray suffered a heavy blow following their crushing 4-0 defeat away at Liverpool. The Turkish club also lost Victor Osimhen, who sustained a serious injury during the match.
Substituted at halftime, the Nigerian striker has been diagnosed with a fracture of his right forearm, as confirmed by Galatasaray in an official statement. This injury could sideline him for several weeks.
Confirmed injury and medical concerns
“Victor Osimhen, who took a blow to the arm during the first half of the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Liverpool away from home, was not allowed to return for the second half due to a risk of fracture,” the club explained.
Medical examinations carried out after the match confirmed the diagnosis, leading to his arm being placed in a cast. “After the game, a hospital examination under the supervision of our medical staff confirmed a fracture in the right forearm, and a cast was applied. A decision regarding potential surgery will be made in the coming days following further tests,” added the Istanbul-based club.
