Bizarre scenes in Cardiff! During the 2026 World Cup qualifier between Wales and Belgium (2-4), the game was briefly stopped after an unexpected intruder sprinted onto the pitch—a rat.
In the 66th minute, the furry pitch invader caused confusion among players. Thibaut Courtois even tried to catch it, but it was Welsh forward Brennan Johnson who ultimately chased the intruder off the field, sparking laughter and disbelief in the stadium. Once the rat was gone, the match resumed.
On the football side, the game was just as wild. Six goals in total, with Belgium winning 4-2 to reclaim top spot in their group ahead of North Macedonia.
