Tensions boiled over in the stands during the PSG–Botafogo clash at the Club World Cup, as a fight broke out between groups of supporters at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
The heated exchange involved Botafogo fans and PSG supporters—reportedly from Central America—just after the Brazilian side’s opening goal. The cause of the altercation remains unclear, but emotions were clearly running high after the surprise 1–0 lead taken by Botafogo.
Several spectators stepped in to separate the fans before security forces arrived. Thankfully, the incident was contained and didn’t interrupt the game, which saw Botafogo claim a historic win over the European champions.
The footage of the scuffle quickly went viral, raising fresh questions about stadium safety and crowd control in international tournaments.
