Yamal also ignited tensions in the Spain locker room

Lamine Yamal is at the center of all tensions in Spain. After behavioral issues in the Barça locker room and clashes against Real Madrid, the national team is now concerned.

Dani Carvajal successfully underwent arthroscopy on his right knee on Tuesday to remove a “loose body,” detected after experiencing pain at the end of the Clásico where he had played only 19 minutes.

The immediate consequence: Carvajal will miss the upcoming international break and will therefore not cross paths with Lamine Yamal, with whom tensions had risen at the end of the Clásico (the famous “you talk too much” remark made by Carvajal).

In the Roja locker room, some senior players believe a discussion will be necessary to prevent the incident from disrupting the atmosphere as the 2026 World Cup approaches. The Clásico has left its mark between the two men, and the tension could peak… during the World Cup. This brings to mind for older fans the darkest hours of the Spanish national team, when Barça and Real players would not speak to each other.
