Zinedine Zidane buys a club… but It’s not OM

While his name surfaces every year as a potential coach for OM, Zinedine Zidane has finally invested… elsewhere. The French legend is now a shareholder of Uf Touraine, an ambitious National 3 club aiming for a rapid rise toward the professional ranks.

According to L’Équipe, Zinedine Zidane is joining the capital of Uf Touraine, currently second in its National 3 group. Alongside several businessmen — Olivier Pickeu, Christophe Chenut, Frédéric Giscard d’Estaing — the former Ballon d’Or winner has injected at least €10,000 into the Touraine project.

Zidane enters club governance with Uf Touraine

A surprising choice for many. Yet it is indeed in Touraine that Zizou is taking his first step into club leadership. At the head of the project is Basile Riboud, son of Franck Riboud, with whom Zidane had already collaborated at Évian Thonon Gaillard.
