Olympique de Marseille is wasting no time in shaping its squad ahead of next season. With Champions League football on the horizon, the club is targeting key reinforcements — and making tough decisions on some departures.
According to TyC Sports and journalist Germán García Grova, OM has officially opened talks with RC Lens to sign Argentine centre-back Facundo Medina. The 25-year-old, under contract until 2028, is seen as a strong fit for the Champions League’s intensity.
However, the competition is fierce. Crystal Palace, AS Roma, and Bayer Leverkusen are also in the race. Lens reportedly wants €25 million to let their international leave.
Adrien Rabiot: Future at Marseille Still Unclear
After a solid first season at OM, Adrien Rabiot has become a midfield pillar. Yet, the 30-year-old is keeping his cards close to his chest.
Speaking to Canal+ after Marseille’s final Ligue 1 match, Rabiot admitted: “Champions League nights at the Vélodrome will be special. But personally, I’m not ready to say what’s next. I’ll sit down next week with the president and Medhi Benatia to discuss everything.”
OM is eager to extend his deal, currently set to expire in 2026, but a raise may be necessary to secure his future.
Luis Henrique Exit Confirmed by Longoria
OM president Pablo Longoria has confirmed the imminent sale of Luis Henrique, who will leave the club before June 30. The 23-year-old Brazilian winger has attracted interest from Inter Milan and other European clubs. The expected transfer fee is around €30 million. “We want to complete the transfer before June 30 for both accounting and sporting reasons,” said Longoria.
The funds will help Marseille finance an ambitious transfer window — one that could define their return to the Champions League.
