Oops… Hugo Ekitike is already making waves at Liverpool — and not for the right reasons.
The French striker is set to join the Reds, but before even signing on the dotted line, he’s managed to stir a bit of controversy. Why? He showed up wearing blue — the color of arch-rivals Everton. You can guess how that went down…
Wearing Everton Colors on Arrival? Bold Move
Spotted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano while boarding his flight to Merseyside, Ekitike was rocking a full blue-and-white outfit — jacket and trousers — looking suspiciously close to Everton gear. It didn’t take long for Liverpool fans to notice… and react. Hard.
On social media, supporters didn’t hold back, reminding everyone that blue is sacred territory — for the enemy.
Showing up in Everton blue wasn’t the best start.
To be fair, fashion faux pas aside, Ekitike has the numbers to back up the hype: 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 matches with Eintracht Frankfurt last season. He’s expected to help fill the attacking void, especially if Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz leaves this summer.
So yes, showing up in Everton blue wasn’t the best start. But hey — score some goals at Anfield, and no one will care what jacket you wore. But no blue, remember Hugo !
