Liverpool offered £111 million for Florian Wirtz, but Bayer Leverkusen turned it down. The German club remains firm: it’s £128 million or nothing.
Leverkusen hold firm on their price tag. Determined to land Florian Wirtz this summer, Liverpool tabled a bid worth €130 million (around £111m). But according to Bild, Leverkusen immediately rejected the offer. The Bundesliga runners-up are holding out for €150 million — roughly £128m — for their 22-year-old star, who scored 16 goals in all competitions this season.
A deal still possible
Despite the initial rejection, talks are ongoing. Liverpool are keen to close the deal quickly, and both clubs remain in contact to try and find common ground.
Wirtz is a top priority for the Reds, and while Leverkusen are open to a sale, it will only happen on their terms. A record-breaking transfer is still very much on the cards.
